Apple has acquired a startup Perception which engaged in the development of artificial intelligence, which works on smartphones and allows you to limit the use of cloud technologies.
The founders of Perception are Nicolas Pinto and Zak Stone. Both are specialists in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. In Perceptio they developed image recognition technology for smart phones using deep machine learning.
“Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,” said Colin Johnson, a company spokesman.
Apple confirmed the acquisition. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
